Hi Everyone,
Our scheduled guest has postponed the visit for March.
Meanwhile, we still have the Community Room reserved for the 29th, and it might be worthwhile to use that evening for a couple of purposes.
1) A Candidate Screening Committee meeting for interviews with a handful of judicial candidates who have asked for endorsements.
2) A Workshop whereby the Board can meet with potential committee chairs and local volunteers who are advocating action related to specific issues, including:
a) parents’ concern seems about the content and age appropriateness of the sex education curriculum in local school systems, including whether schools are engaged in “gender planning”, as some publications claim.
b) Countering the “WOKE-ESG” investment culture – which is a primary reason why we invited Vivek to speak. Notwithstanding Vivek’s presentations, there are members suggesting that we sponsor a boycott of companies that promote WOKE-ESG.
c) The proposed amendment to Ohio’s Constitution to make abortion on-demand a right in Ohio. Note: Supposedly this amendment would make abortion legal through “viability” remove the rights of parents of minors who might seek abortions in Ohio.
d) An Update regarding the E. Palestine ongoing cleanup from Ivan Hack of the Isaac Walton League.
e) Other topics including the gun control measure proposed by Matt Dolan, NOACA’s new Climate Action Plan and HUD’s new equity plan for suburban housing.
